Wired reports that: The government is seeking to block Bradley Manning’s attorney’s attempt to call nearly 50 defense witnesses at a pre-trial hearing next week over the private’s alleged leaking of hundreds of thousands of U.S. government documents[.] Here’s a link to a response from the defense.

Navy Times reports on the Coast Guard helo crash Article 32. The commander of Coast Guard Air Station Sitka testified Thursday he was prepared to recommend that accusations against the co-pilot in a fatal helicopter crash be dropped, but those plans were trumped by the new Coast Guard admiral in Alaska.

Army Times reports: After being wounded by a roadside bomb in Iraq in 2004, Army counterintelligence specialist Mike Helms endured a bureaucratic nightmare trying to get treatment for traumatic brain injury, post-traumatic stress disorder and other injuries. [Check out 10 U. S. Code 1034.]

According to an inspector general’s report obtained by Federal Times, the Army then retaliated against Helms for blowing the whistle on the poor treatment he received.
